The Story of Bamboo Women: A Journey of Resilience, Loss, and Forgiveness

In 1996, back in the days when we thought AOL was the internet, I started reaching out from Florida to women in California. I was looking for a new home because our daughter didn’t fare well in humidity. I was checking out our home state communities. I discovered that women everywhere had problems like mine. Fueled by passion and purpose, I purchased BambooWomen.com and BambooWomen.org. My vision was to empower and uplift women worldwide. With a US Trademark secured and a robust online presence spanning social media, I was ready.

But in 2013, someone stole BambooWomen.com from me. The thief demanded money for its return. I felt devastated. I have BambooWomen.org as a backup. But, losing my cherished domain with the built website dealt a big blow.

Amidst the turmoil, I made the difficult decision to let go of the US Trademark after the loss of my daughter. Grief consumed me, and the dream of Bamboo Women seemed to fade into the background.

Yet, with time comes healing, and with healing comes forgiveness. It’s time to release the anger and resentment towards the thief and reclaim my vision for Bamboo Women. Though the road may be long and challenging, I refuse to let adversity define me.

BambooWomen.org lost visibility in the shadow of a clothing brand bearing the same name. Like the bamboo plant, the mission’s spirit remains alive and resilient. The website is 11 years old. It shows the perseverance and determination that fueled the Bamboo Women movement.

Now, as I stand at the threshold of a new beginning again, I am filled with hope and determination. It’s time to write the book that has long been on my heart. I invite you to join me. Let’s share stories of Bamboo Women. Do you know such a person? They triumphed over adversity and emerged stronger. They did so by helping others.

But the journey doesn’t end there. It’s time to bring Bamboo Women to life in a whole new way — through the power of television. The Bamboo Women Joy TV show shines a spotlight on the resilience, strength, and beauty of women. Let’s inspire others to make a difference in conquering grief and hardships.

As I look ahead, I am filled with gratitude for the support and encouragement that carried me through. Together, we will reclaim the dream of Bamboo Women. We will continue to spread joy, power, and hope to women worldwide.

Like bamboo, I’m resilient. Through life’s challenges, the spirit of Bamboo Women remains unbroken. And with each step forward, we rise stronger, wiser, and more resilient than ever.
